Augustine Lee, M.D.

Biography
Augustine Lee, M.D. is a physician scientist at the Shepherd Spine and Pain Institute and adjunct faculty for the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Emory University. Dr. Lee is originally from Ohio where he also completed medical school at the University of Toledo College of Medicine. After completing his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Tufts Medical Center, Dr. Lee acquired advanced fellowship training in Interventional Spine and Musculoskeletal Medicine (NASS- recognized) at Vanderbilt University Medical Center with specific emphasis on the administration of non-operative fluoroscopic interventional procedures for the spine. With a passion for clinical research and innovation, Dr. Lee also completed advanced postdoctoral research fellowship training at Tufts Medical Center with a focus on clinical trials and epidemiological analyses for the treatment of patients with chronic painful conditions. Having authored over 50 peer-reviewed research publications, Dr. Lee’s research interests are to disentangle the heterogeneity of treatment response, investigate novel therapeutics, and optimize the treatment paradigm for adults with acute and chronic painful conditions.
